Here at BerlinBonez we are well into anything thats a bit, well, weird, but sometimes I see things that leave me wondering....
Im not sure if this is supposed to be Street Art (maybee Banksy has got green fingers all of a sudden?), a political statement or just some seriously missguided Guerilla Gardening by an activist who just dropped a tab.
Anyway, whatever, this tram wasn´t actually going anywhere, it was just standing standing there, er...... like...er .....vegetating or something.....
I came accross this guy at the Alexanderplatz last night doing big drawings in chalk on the pavement.......
I took the pics at night using my iphone so they´re more than a bit grungy. Heres another with buildings in the background to show the scale of it..
The Artist, understandably, didn´t want his picture on the blog. We couldn´t really talk as he spoke (I think) Portuguese. I´m not even sure what his Name is - I`m guessing he´s Nasio painkordia. Respect, dude, that takes a bit more talent than spraying a tag or slapping a sticker and it doesn´t ruin beautifull buildings either.
Just sometimes fate leads you along a path to something really cool..... I was googling around checking out the Berlin Street Artist El Bocho (check the link here it´s a must). El Boch does a character called "Little Lucy" - Lucy is, in my humble opinion, MEGA.
Anyway, Google, being what it is, guided me, via Amazon, to a band called "Gasmac Gilmore" who are , according to WIKI, originaly from Vienna and, strangely enough have an album called ( you guessed it, right? ) "Little Lucy". Eager to find out if there´s a connection, I headed off to U-Tube to check them out - and found this video which, I humbly suggest, is almost as MEGA as dear "Little Lucy" herself. So, as non English speaking waiters the world over say, "ENJOY".....
We’ve been having a cool time here at BerlinBonez working on some new stuff. This time it’s not new T-Shirts but a line up of stickers.
We know - people love stickers. So why did it take us so long to get off our arses and put some together?.....
Well, the BerlinBonez hard drives are full of graphics that we work on as projects move on and there’s loads of stuff that didn’t turn into a T-Shirt or that did, but would also be a great sticker. In fact there’s just too much of it!
If there’s one thing I’m not fast at it’s making my mind up. And the big problem with a computer is that the variations are endless. Back in the days when I did a Fanzine on a photo copier it was draw, cut, paste and hit the button – not much room for trying it this way or that – not even any colour to think about! Today working on a sticker line with a drive full of digital creative goo-goo I spend ages (and some) agonizing over all the details and trying hundreds of variations to get the set looking right.
In fact doing a little run of stickers is a bit like working on a bunch of paintings all at the same time and, come to think of it, when I used to paint I hardly ever got round to finishing anything – it was just too much heart ache committing to the direction the picture was supposed to be going in and I just moved on to the next idea. Anyway I think it’s been worth all that creative angst, and the nail biting; the presses should be warming up at the printers and the stickers will be on COMING SOON!
Come back and check the store later and watch for some competitions to win sets. Maybe BerlinBonez will “have a little bag for you”….(Thanks Frank)
We hit the streets in berlin last weekend to paste up a new poster.....
